This Week: EOS Ecosytem Developments Push Through the Cryptocurrency Market Downturn Despite the downturn in the cryptocurrency market, EOS developments this past week have continued to keep up with the pace that’s been set by the progress made over these past several months.

Everything between business development to application developments and core blockchain technical developments is being worked on a daily basis. Only a couple of these developments get reported on in any given week and they give some critical insight into the progress of the rebuilding of the EOS ecosystem.

This past week has been another eventful one in terms of introducing new developments, following last week’s epic array of EOS ecosystem developments. WIthout further deliberation, here are this past week's development updates.

Antelope Coalition meeting

The Antelope Coalition between EOS, WAX, Telos, and UX Network blockchains held its weekly meeting this past week in which they discussed various initiatives that aim to improve the Antelope ecosystem as a whole.

The following projects are some of what was discussed in the recent meeting:

Antelope GTM cross chain marketing group - in the recent meeting the Antelope Coalition introduced a new initiative to its agenda called the Antelope go-to-market cross chain marketing group. This initiative will be discussed in more detail during the next meeting.

New home for future RFPs - old RFPs (Request for Proposals), which were previously being published on the EOS Network Foundation’s (ENFs) GitHub repository, have been copied over to the Antelope Coalition’s newly created one. All future RFPs will now be published in the Coalition-RFP repository.

P2P Peer Discovery - there have been some issues with how the milestones were set by the team in charge of the project and are looking at solutions to set up more accurate and verifiable milestones that not only focus on technical deliverables. For the project’s remaining milestones (3 - 4 milestones) the team in charge will implement a new milestones schedule that better defines the deliverables.

Inter-Blockchain Communication - There are two or three signatures missing from WAX for the multisig that would activate IBC between WAX and EOS, as well as other Antelope Coalition chains.

Instant Finality - following the conclusion of the busy schedule around the mainnet launch of the EOS EVM, the EOS Network Foundation (ENF) engineers will be back to conducting the reviews on all the work that’s been submitted for Instant Finality (IF) for the past two to three months. It is expected for the engineers to get fully caught up in a week’s time, and for two or three of the milestones surrounding IF and IBC to be completed within the next three weeks.

Wallet SDK - progress on the project is going very well with many of the milestones already completed. It is said the latest release will provide a stable interface for web application developers to integrate Wharf (Web Client SDK) into existing applications and the use of available wallet adapters. The website documentation to explain all of the workings of Wharf are also in progress.

The EOS Network Foundation (ENF) and other representatives from the EOS community will be in attendance at this year’s Consensus event, which is considered the world’s largest, longest running, and most influential gathering of the crypto, blockchain, and Web3 community.

{{{{QUOTE TEXT}}}}Consensus 2023 is a call to action for developers, investors, founders, policymakers, brands and others to come together and find solutions to crypto's thorniest challenges and finally deliver on the technology's transformative potential.

The ENF, along with the Blockchain Game Alliance, Upland, and Telos, will host a kick-off party to Consensus 2023 on Tuesday, April 25. The aim of the kick-off party is to serve as a side networking event, and will also include a short panel on the ‘Future of Gaming’. Something that party hosts and panelists Blockchain Game Alliance, Upland, and Telos all have in common as they strive to take gaming to the mainstream.

Multichain integrates with EOS EVM mainnet

Multichain, a Cross-Chain Router Protocol (CRP) with infrastructure for cross-chain interoperability, announced its integration with the EOS EVM. The integration enables BNB, DAI, USDC, USDT, WBTC, and WETH tokens to be transferred back-and-forth between EOS EVM Mainnet and 30+ other blockchains. More assets are said to soon be made available.

This comes as a result of the earlier announced partnership between the EOS Network Foundation (ENF) and Multichain to expand EOS EVM’s reach to other blockchain ecosystems (EVM and non-EVM), enabling seamless cross-chain swaps for thousands of tokens.

By integrating with Multichain, the EOS EVM gains access to Multichain’s services such as anyCall Cross-chain Contract Calls, Cross-chain NFT Bridges and Router, blockchain-to-blockchain routers, and bridges, which it has over 2,900 deployed. Multichain’s no-slippage swaps will eliminate the hidden costs associated with token swaps. A benefit for both users and developers.

In the most recent of BP monthly meetings, which are meant to establish regular communications between the top 30 EOS BPs and the EOS Network Foundation (ENF), a total of 23 BPs were in attendance to discuss EOS ecosystem developments.

Facilitated by the ENF’ Communications Manager, Beatrice Wang, the meeting touched on:

Leap v4.0 RC3 (release candidate #3); which focuses on optimizing node performance, improving block propagation, scheduling future snapshots, adding read-only transactions, and improving performance of EVM related functions.

Antelope IBC; regarding network upgrades, how the recent upgrade by WAX to Antelope Leap 3.1. brings WAX into code compatibility with EOS along with other Antelope Coalition chains (UX Network and Telos). Also, discussed that a new account creation MSIG needed to be approved to enable WAX and EOS to activate Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC).

Hong Kong Update; ENF CEO, Yves La Rose, gave an update on his recent 9-day trip to Hong Kong where he attended the Web3 Festival and 20+ other events in the city, as well as meeting he had with partners and potential partners.

Q&A; the meeting concluded with a Q&A session that provided further discussions on efficiency improvements to the ENF Grants to better deal with the increase in applicants. Finally, discussion went into how recent trips to Hong Kong and Paris have resulted into great business developments, and how that would translate to user adoption of EOS and EOS EVM.

Alphaday, a software application that provides highly customizable dashboards and a seamless interface for effortless navigation of the Web3 world, including DeFi, NFTs, Crypto, and more, is the latest recipient of an ENF Grant. The approval by the ENF Grant Framework means Alphaday will bring its tool that lets users stay up to date and interact with crypto to the EOS ecosystem.

Stakeholders of the EOS and EOS EVM ecosystems will be able to pull news, on-chain data, social media posts, Web3 services and data points into a customizable user-interface that enables users to gain a better understanding of the EOS network. In the field of recreating a crypto user’s daily workflow (i.e. their general experience) inside a single dashboard, Alphaday currently has no direct competitors.

The grant is classified as a Level 1 and will see Alphaday funded for Milestone 1 - the development and deployment of the initial EOS dashboard. And Milestone 2 - the year-long maintenance and curation of the dashboard. The total for both milestones is $3000.
